PM Modi Extends Wishes on Guru Charan Yatra, Honours Legacy of Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur
New Delhi, Oct 2025 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended his heartfelt wishes on the occasion of the Guru Charan Yatra, invoking the eternal teachings and spiritual legacy of Sri Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur. He urged people, especially those residing along the yatra route, to participate in this sacred journey and seek blessings through the darshan of the holy ‘Jore Sahib’.
Responding to a post by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on X, PM Modi said: “May the Guru Charan Yatra deepen our connection with the noble ideals of Sri Guru Gobind Singh-ji and Mata Sahib Kaur-ji. I urge people in the areas this yatra will cover to come and have Darshan of the holy ‘Jore Sahib’.”
Union Minister Puri shared that the holy Jore Sahib ‘Charan Suhawa’, the revered footwear of Sri Guru Gobind Singh-ji, the founder of the Khalsa Panth, and Mata Sahib Kaur-ji, had been in the custody of his family for over 300 years.
Expressing humility and gratitude, Puri announced, “Today, I feel deeply honoured that my family will hand over the sacred relics to the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. A special Kirtan Samagam will be held at Gurdwara Moti Bagh today, October 22, where devotees will have the opportunity to have darshan of the holy Jore Sahib.”
Following the ceremony, the sacred relics will be carried in the Guru Charan Yatra and permanently enshrined at Takht Sri Patna Sahib, the birthplace of the tenth Sikh Guru, allowing devotees from around the world to offer their obeisance.
The Guru Charan Yatra will commence on October 23 from Gurdwara Moti Bagh in Delhi and reach Faridabad by night. It will then continue through:
- October 24: Faridabad to Agra
- October 25: Agra to Bareilly
- October 26: Bareilly to Mahangapur
- October 27: Mahangapur to Lucknow
- October 28: Lucknow to Kanpur
- October 29: Kanpur to Prayagraj
- October 30: Varanasi to Sasaram
- October 31: Arrival at Gurdwara Guru Ka Bagh, Patna Sahib
- November 1: Conclusion at Takht Sri Patna Sahib

Its relocation to Takht Sri Patna Sahib marks a historic spiritual moment, symbolizing devotion, continuity, and the preservation of Sikh heritage for generations to come.
