Chhattisgarh’s Cultural Brilliance Shines at Bharat Mandapam
Raipur, Nov 2025 : The Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi witnessed a magnificent confluence of Chhattisgarh’s art, culture, and traditions. On the occasion of Chhattisgarh’s Silver Jubilee Year, a cultural evening was organised at the 44th India International Trade Fair, which captivated the audience. Folk artists from Chhattisgarh filled the atmosphere with enthusiasm, energy, and joy through their vibrant traditional dance forms and diverse cultural performances.
The event was attended by Chhattisgarh’s Minister of Industries Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan, Raipur MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, Janjgir-Champa MP Smt. Kamlesh Jangde, Kanker MP Shri Bhojraj Nag, and several other public representatives and officials.
The programme began with Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai lighting the ceremonial lamp. Prior to the event, the Chief Minister visited the Chhattisgarh Pavilion, where he viewed various artworks, handicrafts, and products displayed across different stalls. He appreciated the efforts of the artists and entrepreneurs and encouraged them to continue progressing.
In his address, Chief Minister Sai said that hearing the resonant slogan “Chhattisgarhiya Sabse Badhiya” in the nation’s capital fills every resident of Chhattisgarh with immense pride.
He also highlighted the inauguration of India’s first Digital Tribal Museum in Raipur by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, describing it as a historic step that elevates Chhattisgarh’s cultural identity on the global stage.
The Chief Minister stated that Chhattisgarh is a land rich in art, culture, and traditions, where festivals, folk dances, and traditional art forms continue to be preserved with the same enthusiasm and dignity. He emphasised that millet production, local handicrafts, and tribal traditions represent the state’s vast potential. He added that the state government is strengthening its cultural heritage through artist support, financial assistance, and initiatives such as the Bastar Pandum festival. The Chief Minister invited people from across the country to visit Chhattisgarh and experience its simplicity, cultural richness, and natural beauty.
During the cultural evening, artists presented an impressive array of Chhattisgarh’s traditional folk art forms. Vibrant performances of Gaura-Gauri, Bhojli, Raut Nacha, Sua Dance, Panthi, and Karma Dance mesmerised the audience. The melodious expression of the Sua dance, the energetic rhythm of the Raut Nacha, the spiritual essence of Panthi, and the graceful presentation of Karma showcased the depth of Chhattisgarh’s folk traditions and cultural diversity. Throughout the programme, the audience applauded the performers with great enthusiasm.
