He noted that throughout India’s history, the Vaishya community has played a leading role and has been considered the backbone of the country’s economy. According to him, the community has sustained the nation’s economic structure for thousands of years through hard work, trade expertise and integrity.

Sharma said that after India’s independence, from small traders to large industrialists, members of the Vaishya community have worked together to strengthen the country’s economy. Their contribution to industry, trade and employment is widely recognised. In Rajasthan, he said, the community’s dedication and vision can be seen in sectors such as handicrafts, gems and jewellery, textiles and the food industry.

Role of Vaishya Community Important for Vision 2047

The Chief Minister said the vision of Developed India 2047 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the goal of Developed Rajasthan 2047, cannot be achieved without the support and participation of the Vaishya community. He added that Vaishyas living in India and abroad maintain a strong connection with social service and cultural values. Encouraging young people to pursue entrepreneurship, he urged them to become job creators rather than job seekers.

Government Working for Development of All Sections

Sharma said the state government is implementing a comprehensive roadmap for the development of every sector and community. He mentioned that priority has been given to major water and irrigation projects such as the Ramjal Setu Link Project, the Yamuna Water Agreement, the Indira Gandhi Canal, the Gang Canal, and the Devas Project. These initiatives aim to improve both drinking water supply and irrigation facilities while ensuring sufficient water availability for industries.

In the energy sector, the Chief Minister said the state has increased its power generation capacity by 8,261 megawatts. At present, farmers in 22 districts are receiving electricity during daytime hours, and the government plans to extend daytime electricity supply to farmers across the state by 2027.

Huge Development Potential in Rajasthan

Highlighting Rajasthan’s economic potential, Sharma said the government organised the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit within its first year and signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹35 lakh crore. Investments worth over ₹8 lakh crore have already begun at the ground level. He added that the state government has introduced policies for sectors including mining, tourism and industry, along with a youth policy aimed at encouraging young entrepreneurs.

Through the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, industries are being strengthened in every district, creating employment opportunities for local youth.

Employment Opportunities Expanding

The Chief Minister stated that the government is fulfilling its commitment to create four lakh government jobs and six lakh private sector jobs. So far, more than 1.25 lakh government appointments have been made, while recruitment for around 1.35 lakh posts is currently underway. He also announced that in 2026 the recruitment calendar will include around 1.25 lakh vacancies instead of the originally planned one lakh posts.
