Rajasthan CM Flags Off ‘Viksit Rajasthan Run 2026’ on Rajasthan Day

Jaipur, March 2026 : Bhajan Lal Sharma, Chief Minister of Rajasthan, flagged off the ‘Viksit Rajasthan Run–2026’ in Jaipur on Sunday as part of the celebrations marking Rajasthan Day. Addressing participants at the event held at Amar Jawan Jyoti, the Chief Minister said that regular running is the key to a healthy life.

He said beginning the day with a run helps maintain energy throughout the day, keeps the body healthy and promotes a positive mindset. Sharma also noted that the Fit India Movement launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inspired people across the country to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

The Chief Minister appealed to the youth to maintain a disciplined and healthy routine while actively contributing to the development of the state. He said that if the people of Rajasthan take a step forward, the state will progress many times faster.

The ‘Viksit Rajasthan Run’ was organised as part of a series of programmes being held across the state to celebrate Rajasthan Day. Sharma flagged off the run symbolically in Jaipur while similar events were organised simultaneously in various districts of the state.

During his address, the Chief Minister said the state government had introduced a new tradition from last year to celebrate Rajasthan Day according to the traditional calendar date. He recalled that on March 30, 1949, under the leadership of the then Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, various princely states were integrated to form the larger state of Rajasthan.

He added that the formation of the state coincided with the Indian New Year, observed on the day of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada according to the Hindu calendar. Keeping this tradition in mind, Rajasthan Day will be celebrated across the state with enthusiasm on March 19 this year.

Sharma further said that the state government is working in line with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat–2047’ envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is implementing the roadmap for ‘Viksit Rajasthan–2047’. The government’s aim, he said, is to ensure that welfare schemes reach every eligible citizen, especially those at the grassroots level.

The Chief Minister urged people to avail themselves of government schemes and encourage others who qualify to benefit from them.

Highlighting the achievements of the state government over the past two years, Sharma said several major decisions had been taken in sectors such as electricity, water supply, and industry. He also emphasised that the government is continuously working to empower farmers, women, youth, and labourers.

Speaking about youth empowerment, the Chief Minister said the government has introduced a dedicated youth policy and is providing interest-free loans to young people to encourage entrepreneurship. This initiative aims to help youth become job creators rather than job seekers.

He added that the state government has set a target of providing four lakh jobs in the government sector and six lakh jobs in the private sector. So far, around 1.25 lakh appointments have already been made, while recruitment processes for approximately 1.33 lakh posts are currently underway. Recruitment calendars for more than one lakh additional posts have also been released.

The Chief Minister also noted that those involved in examination paper leak cases that harmed the future of young aspirants are now behind bars.

During the programme, Sharma also joined the participants in the run to encourage them. The event was attended by MLA Gopal Sharma, Chief Secretary V. Srinivas, other public representatives, officials, and a large number of citizens and participants.
