Prioritize Completion of Projects Within the Stipulated Timeframe – CM Devendra FadnavisCM Fadnavis Reviews 15 Key Infrastructure Projects in War Room Meeting

Mumbai : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reviewed 18 previously discussed projects along with 15 new critical infrastructure initiatives during a War Room meeting. Stressing the importance of these projects for the state’s development, CM Fadnavis directed that all works must be completed as per the prescribed timelines.

The meeting was held at the Cabinet Hall in Mantralaya and was attended by Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, Chief Economic Advisor to the CM Dr. Praveen Pardeshi, and Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Secretaries from various departments. Senior officials including Divisional Commissioners and District Collectors joined via video conferencing.

The review focused on significant projects in Mumbai, Vidarbha, Marathwada, and Western Maharashtra. These included Mumbai Metro Lines 2B (DN Nagar to Mandale), 4 (Wadala to Kasarvadavli), 5 (Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan), 6 (Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli), 7A (Andheri to CSMIA Terminal 2), 9 (Dahisar East to Mira Bhayandar), the Orange Gate to Marine Drive tunnel, Borivali-Thane twin tunnel, Uttan-Virar sea link, Sewri-Worli elevated corridor, Pune Metro, Dahisar-Bhayander link road, Goregaon-Magathane DP Road, Goregaon-Mulund link road, and the Coastal Road (North).

Detailed discussions were held on the current status and hurdles of each project.

CM Fadnavis emphasized that micro-level planning is crucial for the timely completion of development projects. He instructed departments to conduct necessary reviews at their level to resolve bottlenecks promptly. Land acquisition processes must be expedited, and wherever forest and environmental clearances are needed, they should be secured quickly. He also recommended preparing zonal master plans where required and utilizing advanced technology for precise surveying of large-scale projects like Dharavi.

Regarding the Wardha-Nanded Railway Project linking Vidarbha and Marathwada, the Chief Minister directed swift resolution of land acquisition issues. He ordered the private land purchase process for the Wardha-Gadchiroli line to be completed within seven days. For the vital Vadhavan Port Project, which will significantly boost employment and the maritime economy, CM Fadnavis instructed that issues related to forest land be resolved immediately and decisions for implementation be taken swiftly.

He further directed that all necessary land for Metro projects in Mumbai and Pune be acquired on a priority basis. The parallel city water supply scheme in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar must overcome technical hurdles and commence work immediately. The Mumbai Municipal Corporation should fast-track land acquisition for the Magathane-Goregaon DP Road and ensure wildlife-related clearances are granted at the earliest. The MMRDA was also directed to hand over rehabilitation flats to the BMC.

In the previous War Room meeting, CM Fadnavis had reviewed 18 projects and addressed 73 challenges, of which 31 have been resolved. He reviewed the implementation status of directions given in that meeting and instructed prompt resolution and action on any remaining issues.
