On National Sports Day, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Inaugurates Sansad Khel Mahotsav
Jaipur, Aug 2025 : On the occasion of National Sports Day, celebrated on the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, formally inaugurated the Sansad Khel Mahotsav-2025 at a grand ceremony held at Patel Stadium, Ajmer.
The program began with floral tributes offered at the statue of Major Dhyan Chand. Following this, MP Shri Choudhary inaugurated a Kabaddi match.
He said that sports are the foundation of discipline, energy, and health in life. Through this Mahotsav, hidden sports talent from rural and urban areas will find recognition and a platform. It will also be a big step towards building a healthy and strong society. He emphasized that in today’s changing lifestyle, fitness and health are the biggest challenges, and sports provide the best solution to overcome them.
The Minister added that this Mahotsav is not only a platform for players but also a campaign to inspire them to contribute to nation-building. Talented players who excel here will go on to make the state and the nation proud at higher levels.
He appealed to the youth to actively participate in sports, register in large numbers, and make this event successful.
Online Registration Facility:
Participants must register online by September 20 to take part in the competitions. Interested players can submit their entries at www.sansadkhelmahotsav.in.
Competitions from Village to District Level:
The competitions will commence on September 21 at the village level. Selected participants will then compete at the block level, and finally, the district-level finals will be held. This step-by-step process will help identify talent at every level.
Traditional and Modern Sports Included:
The Mahotsav will feature events for different age groups, including lemon-spoon race, 100m and 400m races, long jump, high jump, kabaddi, badminton, tug-of-war, kho-kho, skating, cricket, wrestling, and volleyball.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by District Collector Shri Lok Bandhu, CEO of Ajmer Zila Parishad Shri Ram Prakash, Additional District Collector Shri Gajendra Singh Rathore, Executive Engineer of Ajmer Municipal Corporation Shri Manohar Songara, Hockey Secretary Shri Devendra Singh Shekhawat, Deputy District Sports Officer Shri Shivraj Singh Shekhawat, District Cricket Association President Shri Manish Sharma, along with physical education teachers, coaches from various schools, and a large number of players.
