QR Code Facility Launched in 549 Panchayats of Raigarh
No More Visits to Panchayat Offices – Get Five Years of MGNREGA Data with a Single Click
Raipur, Sept 2025 : The effective implementation of the MGNREGA scheme continues in Chhattisgarh, proving to be a milestone for rural development. In Raigarh district, a new initiative has been launched to make the scheme more transparent and efficient. A QR code-based system has been introduced across all 549 panchayats of the district, enabling villagers to instantly access information about individual and community projects sanctioned in their villages over the past five years.
By simply scanning the QR code with a smartphone, people can view details such as project description, expenditure, and progress.
This initiative under MGNREGA in Raigarh aligns with the Digital India program of the Central Government and the Transparency Policy of the State Government. The aim is to make villagers active partners in the development process and empower them with the right to monitor projects. With this system in place, villagers no longer need to visit panchayat offices repeatedly or depend on incomplete information.
Starting from September, QR codes are being installed in all panchayats of Raigarh, Kharsia, Pusaur, Gharghoda, Lailunga, Tamnar, and Dharamjaigarh blocks. This system is expected not only to save time and effort but also to empower villagers technologically. To ensure wider usage, training programs are being conducted at the panchayat level.
The initiative has generated enthusiasm among villagers. A resident of Kharsia block shared, “Earlier, we had to visit offices repeatedly for information, but now everything will be available instantly through the QR code. This is a big convenience for us.”
Experts believe that this digital model of Raigarh will serve as an example for other districts as well. It is expected to increase transparency in schemes, promote digital literacy in rural areas, and strengthen community monitoring. The administration is confident that this initiative will be a significant step towards the democratization of information and will take the rural economy to new heights.
