State-Level Gender Workshop Held Under National Campaign ‘Nayi Chetna 4.0’

Intensive Discussions Held on Women’s Economic Empowerment, Social Security, and Gender Equality

Raipur, December 2025 : A one-day state-level gender workshop was organised today at the New Circuit House in Raipur under the national campaign ‘Nayi Chetna 4.0’ by the Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission. The workshop saw the participation of Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Shri Bhim Singh, Mission Director of Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission, Shri Ashwini Dewangan, along with senior officials from various departments.

The workshop highlighted that this initiative is a significant step towards protecting women’s rights, strengthening social security, and preventing gender-based violence. Addressing the programme, Secretary of the Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Shri Singh, said that through the Gender Resource Centre, women will receive a strong platform where they can access information about their rights and become self-reliant. He emphasised that women play a crucial role and hold important participation in every sphere of society.

Mission Director of Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission, Shri Dewangan, said that gender is not a subject confined to any single department, but a collective responsibility of all government departments. He stressed on further strengthening departmental convergence to bring gender issues into the mainstream.

The main objective of the workshop was to enhance the role of different departments and develop a coordinated approach to ensure women’s economic and social empowerment. On this occasion, detailed discussions were held on topics such as women empowerment, gender equality, social inclusion, gender-based violence, grievance redressal systems, and access to rights-based services.

Representatives from the Police Department, District Legal Services Authority, Women and Child Development Department, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Education Department, Health Department, and other related departments shared views on important issues related to women’s rights and entitlements.

A street play performed by members from Kanker district effectively depicted themes such as gender-based violence, social discrimination, and the role of Gender Resource Centres. In addition, two panel discussions focused on challenges to women’s economic and social empowerment and departmental convergence.

The workshop witnessed active participation from senior state and district officials, subject experts, NMMU representatives, and representatives from organisations like Pradan, Trif, Chaitanya, along with GMT members, group participants, office bearers, and other stakeholders from across the state.

At the conclusion of the programme, district and block-level teams performing outstanding work were honoured. Experts said that the core objective of the ‘Nayi Chetna 4.0’ campaign is to ensure timely support, safe platforms, and reliable systems for women.
