TVK Launches Assembly Poll Campaign, Opens Application Process for Aspirants

Chennai, Feb 2026 : Marking the formal launch of its campaign for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Tuesday announced that it will begin issuing application forms to party members aspiring to contest the polls. The move signals the start of a structured and time-bound candidate selection process as the party prepares for a full-scale electoral battle across the State.

In an official statement issued from the party headquarters, TVK General Secretary N. Anand said that application forms would be available between February 6 and February 14. Party members interested in contesting the Assembly elections on a TVK ticket can collect and submit their applications during this period.

As per the notification, distribution of application forms will commence at 12 noon on February 6. From the following days, forms can be obtained daily between 10 am and 6 pm at the party headquarters. Aspirants have been advised to fill in all required details carefully and submit the completed forms along with relevant supporting documents within the stipulated timeframe.

Party leaders described the initiative as a significant step towards strengthening internal democracy and ensuring transparency in the selection of candidates. By inviting applications directly from its grassroots members, TVK aims to identify committed party workers who enjoy strong local support, public credibility and a clear understanding of people’s issues in their respective constituencies.

The party reiterated its intention to contest all 234 Assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu, underlining its ambition to emerge as a major political force in the State. The leadership believes that a comprehensive electoral presence is essential for positioning TVK as a credible alternative to the established Dravidian parties that have dominated Tamil Nadu politics for decades.

Highlighting the broader political vision, the statement noted that gaining political power is crucial to fulfilling the aspirations of the people and accelerating inclusive development in the State. TVK emphasised that effective governance, accountability and people-centric policies would remain the cornerstones of its political agenda.

Under the leadership of its president, the party has intensified organisational activities at the grassroots level. Booth committees are being strengthened, membership drives are being expanded and cadres are being mobilised to ensure readiness well ahead of the elections.

Anand said that inviting applications at an early stage would help the party streamline its preparations, assess potential candidates more effectively and select representatives who align closely with TVK’s ideology, mission and long-term vision for Tamil Nadu.

With this announcement, TVK has formally entered election mode, setting the stage for an energetic campaign and a competitive contest in the months leading up to the Assembly polls.
