CM Dhami inaugurates and lays foundation stones for six development projects worth ₹76.78 crore at Jageshwar Dham

Oct 2025 : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid foundation stones for six development projects worth ₹76.78 crore during his visit to the sacred Jageshwar Dham, a renowned pilgrimage site in Almora district. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also offered prayers at the temple, seeking peace, prosperity, and well-being for the people of Uttarakhand.

The projects inaugurated include the upgradation of the Danya–Ara Salpad motor road, improvement of the Chaikhana–Thuashimal motor road, and the construction of a 33/11 kV substation at Satyun. Additionally, he laid the foundation stones for the construction of non-residential buildings at Government Polytechnic Colleges in Salt and Danya, as well as the mechanical building at Government Polytechnic, Dwarahat.

Following the ceremonies, Chief Minister Dhami conducted an on-foot inspection of the Jageshwar Dham premises and held a detailed review of the Jageshwar Dham Master Plan. He instructed officials to ensure that all works are completed within the stipulated timelines with high quality and transparency.

The Chief Minister emphasized that Jageshwar is the center of faith and devotion for the people of Uttarakhand and announced that efforts are underway to give it a grand and divine form. He directed all concerned departments to work in close coordination to achieve this vision.

Acknowledging the increasing number of pilgrims visiting the temple, the Chief Minister stressed the need to strengthen the basic infrastructure of the shrine to ensure better facilities and smooth management. He instructed the District Magistrate to regularly monitor the progress of ongoing works and ensure their timely completion. He also emphasized regular maintenance of approach roads leading to the temple.

Highlighting the spiritual and cultural significance of the region, Dhami directed that Vriddh Jageshwar, another ancient temple complex nearby, should also be developed in conjunction with Jageshwar Dham. He noted that both sites hold deep mythological, cultural, and religious importance, making their integrated development essential.

The Chief Minister further stated that the government’s goal is to ensure that Jageshwar Dham attains global recognition not only as a spiritual destination but also as a center of tourism and cultural heritage. He added that the comprehensive development of the area would create new opportunities for local employment and economic empowerment.

District Magistrate Anshul Singh and other senior officials of the district administration were present during the program.
